that said, they are very inexpensive and stack very sturdily so even given the issues they are my go-to value bin
Community Reviews
IRIS 12.9 quart buckle up bins are a low cost, stackable storage option that works well for closets, workshops, and general organizing. The size gets praise for holding clothes, hardware, and other mixed items, and the clear design makes contents easy to see. The main drawback is durability, with reports of latches, handles, lids, and even the plastic itself cracking or shattering, especially when stacked, pulled, or exposed to garage and basement temperature swings. They are not airtight, but the price and size still make them a practical everyday bin.
Common Questions (5)
They can be sturdy for stacking and everyday organizing, but several comments report latches, handles, lids, or the bin body cracking or breaking over time, especially with frequent handling or temperature swings. Indoor use tends to hold up better than garage or basement storage.
Yes. The link can open the clear-lid version at full price, and the discounted price appears only after clicking the blue option.
Yes. The handles can pop back on, and if the attachment hole is not punched out correctly, removing the extra plastic can fix it. It is a hassle, but it is an easy DIY repair.
No. These bins are not airtight, so they are better for general storage than for sealing out moisture or odors.
Yes, but a non-member surcharge may apply. One purchase went through with a $1.00 surcharge.

BTW. I am not sure where all these comments of these being flimsy and the handles breaking come from. The handles can pop-off but you put them back on. They are not flimsy, no more than any other clear container as they seem the same thickness and I store light and some heavy things in mine and have not had any break.
