That said I have a pretty strong Echo preference. Decent deal.

Echo 590 would be a more stout saw than this, and often the same price.

Bought my 450 rancher in 2001 and it's not a saw that sits around. I camp a lot and every fall I cut up about 4cd of wood for winter. It's been solid. I'm way impressed over the echos and poulans I had prior. And it's got a lot of torque. People look at displacement numbers and that's not the whole picture. This is a decent displacement, but it's got the torque to back it. (Chain is pretty common size/pitch also, that's a factor when I buy. Oregon, etc will fit this saw).

my 590 was cheaper at home depot on sale... the good news is I know how to fix them.
