When I first arrived in this city and rented my first apartment, I slept on this thing for half a month before I finally assembled my first IKEA bed frame. It smelled like burning tires, somehow mixed with the excitement and uncertainty of the future.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago. I had married-couple friends coming into town and they used my queen bed, and I used this with a 3" foam topper on top. It was remarkably comfortable - about 90% as comfortable as a mattress. I did try laying on it without the foam topper for a short bit, and it was just 'ok' - the foam topper made a big difference. I am 5'10", 202lb, athletic build.

I already had the foam topper and it's not the one I would recommend for this inflatable. It is a queen topper so the sides draped over the sides of the air mattress, but I was able to cram it all into the cheap Target Twin/Twin XL bedding. The link is below, but I recommend getting a twin foam topper of some sort. Probably a 2" one would be ok as well.

This one goes on sale occosionally for $19 but is not current on sale. I think it would work great.
