Maybe it's my lack of skills, though it doesn't cut my neck nor sideburns well. Had the same experience with Arc3. After a year, it's displaying an icon to replace the foil. I did clean and oil regularly.

Keep in mind I ordered this late last night/very early in the AM.
I'll say, is that results definitely will vary by person due to topography of face and the way your facial hair grows in. Once I got a technique down and into the rhythm of this thing, I'm happy with the results I get. Some notes from my routine:
- I use it usually every other day to every day (when not being lazy). Letting it go any farther between shaves results in poorer results and can have snags (ouchie!)
- I use "Lectric Shave" before using which definitely helps with closer shave.
- Don't need to apply much pressure but definitely have to find the grain and go against it. I usually do sweeping motions of with grain/against grain from temple to center on one side then the other.
- I actually electric shave before a shower and then after shower, with face still wet, I just lightly go over my face with my old razor blade (with the grain). It helps get any stubborn stragglers as well as right below my nose and at my sideburns. I finish with aftershave.
- Never have irritation with my routine and definitely is smooth to the touch.
- 1.5 years later and I'm still on the original foil. I clean shaver after every use.

No need for a cleaning station. Just hold the power button a few seconds and add some liquid soap to activate the ~30 second cleaning mode then rinse under running water. HTH
