my point was just that they shouldn't be compared to protein supplements. They are basically an elevated candy bar, but if you are going to go out and burn 500-1000 calories and need a handy snack, they fit the job. Especially if you are vegan or otherwise intolerant of whey. And for this price point of 70 cents per bar I think they are fine, especially with non-GMO and organic certification.
personally when I go long running I eat these janky stroopwaffels from Walmart because they are dirt cheap lol, and the gels give me serious stomach issues.
I typically use FitCrunch as my protein bar for fuel, but they don't hold up well to heat. So if I'm going on a hike, long bike ride, or hooping outdoors, I'll throw a Clif bar or two in my bag. Soft, easy to eat, taste fine, and aren't super messy if they get hot. I track my macros, so I'm aware of the tradeoffs.
