Had This For Like Five Years?,

Use it indoors. Runs like a champ. Probably could use defrosting. I usually just take a spatula (or something of the like) and "shave" off the excess ice on the top back and right of the thing. Whatevers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 😋

I've had this exact model for about 3 years, running 24/7 outdoors, I defrost and clean it once a year, it builds a little bit of ice after about a year of cleaning. Other than that, has been running great. I believe I paid around $150-$170 for it at the time.

An HD windshield ice scraper works good.

We aren't terribly organized, but maybe average at best. However, every time I open our chest freezer I wish we had an upright.

I've had one for about 4 years and absolutely love it. No issues so far.
Even as a single person, I was having trouble with not enough space in my refrigerator freezer, especially when I would stock up on meat, etc. that was on sale. After getting this, I had so much more flexibility. I wish I would have gotten one earlier.

I've defrosted mine 3 time, about once/yr and it hasn't built up too badly, probably less than 1/8" on all sides.
I built a small wooden platform about 6" tall to both raise it for access and ease of defrosting/draining, although I really don't use much water to defrost it. I just use a bowl of warm water and a rag and a scraper.

Absolutely quiet. I have mine in the dining room and only hear it click on/off periodically.
Standing right beside it, there's only a small hum, less than a PC fan and much less than my refrigerator.

Having had the 5 ft for about 4 years (as a single person), I would still consider getting the 7 ft.
The power usage is minimal (if you keep it full) and having 6 more inches of width would be nice for only $20 more.
I was a little concerned that the 7ft might have been just a bit too big for the location I'm using, but it probably would have been fine.

Yeah,

Like Gregbert said. Like WHISPER(!!!) quiet. Not sure I have even ever heard it turn on/off once. I do have it in an "open" kitchen near the living room though to be fair.
