I just got this from Woot a couple of weeks ago for $14. It's OK, just meh. It doesn't move air all that great, but is pretty silent. It is worth $10

This small USB desk fan is best for quiet airflow and white noise at a low price. It runs pretty silently, works well near a computer, and fits as a simple office or desk replacement. The touch controls can be annoying because turning it off from the highest setting takes three presses, and USB power is less convenient than a regular outlet. A switch would make it easier to live with.

Common Questions (4)

  • It is pretty silent and can work well as white noise, but it does not move a lot of air. That makes it better for close-range desk use than for strong cooling.

  • At $9.99, it is considered worth it as a small, quiet desk fan, though it is only average at moving air. A cheaper Walmart similar fan at $6.99 was also mentioned as an alternative.

  • If it is on the highest speed, turning it off requires pressing the touch button three times. The lack of a dedicated on/off switch makes that annoying for some users.

  • Yes, it plugs into USB rather than a standard wall outlet, which can be less convenient. It is a better fit for a desk near a computer or other USB power source.

Can you link to the fan controller and desk mount you used? You just don't get a quality usb fan doing it any other way. And can reuse a quality case fan with fluid dynamic bearing instead.

What a great idea. I've got an old Panaflo fan that would work well. Thanks!

Good fan but pain in the ass to turn off from the highest setting, you have to hit the button 3 times. Wish there was an on/off switch.
