This thing gets nasty, I wouldn't want to drive around with it or carry it in a store.

This 10 quart oil drain container is mainly useful for catching and transporting used oil from one car or a couple of smaller vehicles, with enough capacity to avoid extra recycling trips in many cases. The compact size can be easier to handle than a 16 quart tub, and the made in USA note is a nice bonus. The main cautions are that larger vehicles can overflow it, and several comments describe messy transport, shallow design, or cap and vent issues that can lead to spills. A practical pick if the size matches your oil changes.
Common Questions (5)
The 10-quart size is enough for one vehicle or two smaller vehicles, while a 16-quart container gives more headroom for larger engines and fewer recycling runs. The tradeoff is bulk: a 16-quart unit can be harder to use on low-clearance cars and may be unnecessary if you only drain one vehicle at a time.
It is a reasonable price for a 10-quart container, but it is not the lowest price mentioned. Similar 10-quart units were cited at about $12 at Advance Auto, and a 16-quart option was also mentioned at roughly $15.
It fits a single-car oil change well, including vehicles around 4.4 quarts and 6.4 quarts. It can be too small for two larger vehicles or for back-to-back changes if you want to avoid an immediate recycling trip.
Keep it in a sealed black trash bag and make sure it cannot slide around in the truck bed. A similar container reportedly opened a drain plug after sliding, so extra containment and a stable position help prevent a major mess.
Some units reportedly have cap and vent-cover problems: the caps can strip, the pan is shallow, and the air-release cover may not stay sealed. Those issues can lead to splashing or leaking during transport, so checking the seals before use matters.
