Battery life is so so, but you can potentially just leave it plugged into a charger and not really worry about it.
The instant button mapping has been the best feature for me. It lets you almost instantly swap profiles between 3 (+1 default) different setups, or way more if you go into the menu. This helps with games where you are constantly spamming the same button and get hand fatigue. You cN remap almost everything, if you wanna change games like Nioh controls, closer to something like dark souls etc.
Swapping for new nondrift thumbstucks is easy too. And same as almost all regular controllers, (if you have soldering skills) you can potentially add hall effect or TMR sticks to the modules to make em drift proof.
My only real complaint is there aren't 4 back buttons. Ive installed the extremerate ryze 4 thing on 2 regular dualsense controllers and miss the extra buttons. Apparently there are extremerate button packs for the edge now to add the extra buttons but i haven't done that...yet.

Also fyi there is potentially a new version of the edge coming out....maybe with a bigger or easier to swap battery or maybe its just a hardware revision for manufacturing.

Any one have experience with Amazon resale to confirm if their quality descriptions are reliable?

Before tax.
I live in California so that is $12 of tax....
Completely unacceptable for a controller being marketed as repairable and long lasting. Regular DualSense has held up better for me, very unfortunate.
