This is a very cheap 80 20 ground beef deal that works best for stocking the freezer or making burgers, meatballs, and other everyday meals. The price has landed as low as $1 per pound with coupons, and orders have also hit the $25 grocery minimum for free Prime shipping by adding milk, juice, or other staples. Availability is regional and the max is 5 pounds. Freshness and quality have generally been fine, though there are concerns about unclear origin, packaging, and occasional tougher pieces.

Common Questions (5)

  • Availability is regional and can vary by city or even nearby ZIP code. It has shown as available in places like South Florida, Boston, Seattle, Los Angeles, and the SF Bay Area, while others saw it sold out or not available at all.

  • The purchase limit is 5 lbs. Prime shipping is free on grocery orders of $25 or more, and the threshold can be met with other grocery items, not just the beef.

  • Reported checkout totals ranged from about $5 for 5 lbs with a stacked 50% coupon to $13 for 5 lbs with shipping, and some orders landed around $22 with other groceries included. The deal can also trigger extra coupons when you add items for same-day delivery.

  • Many buyers describe it as comparable to store-brand tube ground beef and say it cooks normally for burgers, meatballs, and broiling. A few report hard bits like cartilage or bone, so quality can vary by pack.

  • Orders have arrived with use/freeze dates about a week out, and some buyers froze all 5 packs after delivery. Packaging has been described as paper bags lined with foil, sometimes with frozen water bottles, but no ice packs are always included.

Got multiple orders with multiple accounts, like 10 pounds. Got enough meat for a week.

better to just pay the $2.99 shipping.
i did ok going over $25 by trying some other frozen starch items and short shelf life snack items being discounted near end date. i could have gotten over $35 for the -$5off but by then i realized i was just buying junk and cans for the discount, so i sobered up and settled for the free ship at $25. of course i booked it for next day - no point in driving people crazy what i'll end up stuffing in my freezer. i can sometimes get 72% chub 5lbs at a time for $12 here, but i checked the circulars and nobody is discounting chop meat with labor day just around the corner.

Our state has the highest grocery prices in the nation and deals like this are non existent and would cause a stampede sellout within minutes. A pound of hamburger "on sale" is $10.99, milk $6.89/qt., eggs $7.79/dz., bread $6.99/1# loaf, a 5-oz potato $1.49., $5.29/gal.reg.gas. 'Dining out' at a fast food joint is a luxury. Not long ago Prez.Dump said "No, I'm not worried about the economy. Why me worry? (laughs)". Things went from bad to worse then critical since he started playing his tariff war games.

You live here? It's currently 103.8 outside my door. I have a delivery coming between 2 and 6 today. They pack items in insulated bags and make short trips for delivery. I dislike people who just make crap up with no basis in facts. You should get a job in D.C.

is the insulated bag they use good enough to keep meat okay for a few hours outside until I can get home to bring in the groceries?

That is oddly cheap. In for 5 at $13 ($3 shipping because needed $25 min). Never used before but hard to pass up this price.
Not odd, they are pushing Amazon Grocery right now, and loss leaders is the surest way to bring in new customers.

They use paper bags lined with foil and no ice packs. I wouldn't trust raw meat left out in those bags for a few hours.
