Only self contained units (phones, watches, even drones, etc) should be considered. There is no economical way for these parts to be tested after trade in. They are simply putting the testing on you if you return it or not.

For example, I could imagine someone ordering a board and installing a CPU without integrated graphics and assuming the parts were faulty because there was no video output.
Anyway, I used to order these frequently when it was called Amazon Warehouse and they were practically giving away returned boards. I'd estimate I had a 90% success rate.
They always came at least with the I/O shield as I recall. Although I'll say there never seemed to be much rhyme or reason as to the condition rating. Usually understated. I'd get some in "fair condition" that were indistinguishable from new sometimes.
I've built hundreds of PCs, and I am very comfortable in a BIOS, so it's not me.
Not me. Not worth it imo.

Also with how memory has almost tripled in price, I am sticking with what I have for as long as possible until this AI fiasco ends.
What I paid $200 for a year ago, Im not paying $800 now.
