I've watched a lot of horror movies before this, and a lot more after it, but the scene with the kid on the bike, trying to get out of town, still creeps me out to this day. No idea why, but it's so unsettling with how the whole scene plays out. Of course, the whole movie has great scenes and monsters like that all over.
One of the best Lovecraft-influenced flicks out there, too.

I've watched a lot of horror movies before this, and a lot more after it, but the scene with the kid on the bike, trying to get out of town, still creeps me out to this day. No idea why, but it's so unsettling with how the whole scene plays out. Of course, the whole movie has great scenes and monsters like that all over.
One of the best Lovecraft-influenced flicks out there, too.

This movie is a great one. John Carpenter did a good job on this, and Arrow always is spot-on with their transfers. Prince of Darkness however, is a terrible movie. I still don't understand how he could make the masterpiece of The Thing, then go to that massive letdown of a movie. At least this movie helps salvage the apocalypse trilogy.

A bonus for both players, if you look hard enough online, you can find instructions for making those specific players region free. 😄 Something that isn't common for most players without a hardware mod.
4k discs themselves aren't region locked, but the extras discs often are. But if you never order discs from other regions then that won't matter anyway.
Otherwise, the PS5 and Xbox Series X disc versions can also play 4k discs. Neither one support Dolby Vision for Blu-rays, however.
Between those two options I prefer using the PS5 as a player, the Xbox app just feels wonkier, to use a technical term. But ever since I got a Panasonic standalone player I've never gone back to using the PS5.
