The thumb "wing" on the 1 and 2 was bendy/soft plastic and would eventually rot off in a weird way. On the MX Master 3/3s, the "wing" is now a (rubber?) "flap" of some kind that seems to be holding up better.
The MX Master 4 does further refine this, and it's kind of a separate button now instead of a "wing".
The 2.4ghz receivers for older Logitech stuff, including the MX Master 1-3 all use the older USB-A "Unifying" receivers. You can buy these separately but sometimes you can get them cheaper by just buying a cheap Logitech mouse that comes with a unifying receiver, lol.
The MX Master 4 uses a newer "Bolt" USB-C receiver, fwiw.
Still a good mouse! But in case anyone is a bit torn between the MX Master 3 and 4.
