Totally agree with this. I had a version similar to this one that I got from Sam's a few years ago and it crapped out right after the warranty expired. It also had an issue with the vacuum port for the accessory not sealing properly from day 1 that I did not realize was impacting the overall vacuum performance. I'd get this from Costco or Sam's for return policy. Also, the version that has the automatic vacuum and seal bar that you press down on is a game changer compared to this one that it replaced.

I have a Bosenkitchen vs4100 used from Amazon that in my opinion works better that the food saver. Your problem might be with the bags you're using or the rubber seal on the food saver. I get the Double 50ft rolls and make 4 25 ft rolls so they fit inside the machine. I usually just buy the ones with the best reviews and price on Amazon

There's also one that will double seal . I don't remember the Brand name

If your bags lose vacuum immediately then it's likely poor sealing. If it's down the road after they've been in the freezer...I've found especially the thinner bags are easy to scrape or bang and make a tiny pin-hole. But even the 'OG foodsaver' bags aren't indestructible.
