This Firman dual fuel inverter generator is valued for backup power and travel trailer use, especially on propane, which avoids carb gumming and keeps fuel maintenance simpler. It has handled outages well, and the electric start plus dual fuel setup make it practical for emergency use. The main cautions are battery reliability and storage, since the battery may lose charge within weeks or months and can prevent starting on propane if it dies. The CO sensor can also fail or block operation, and refurbished units carry only a 90 day warranty. A solid option if you can keep the battery charged and plan around the sensor.
The generator can run well through multiple outages when it is maintained and exercised periodically.
Using propane can help avoid carb gumming that can occur with gasoline storage.
The battery can be improved by replacing it with a LiFePO4 motorcycle battery.
A ring-terminal workaround can make propane starts easier when the factory battery is weak.
Refurbished status can affect how shoppers evaluate the $499 deal despite a limited warranty.
Gasoline can gum up carb jets if fuel remains in the carb bowl after shutdown.
CO sensor failures can prevent the generator from running and replacement sensors can be hard to find.
Battery reliability can be poor, including cases where the battery will not hold a charge for about a month.

I did also run into the problem where the battery died, and when the battery dies it can't start on propane. It's also extremely difficult to jump start it the way the battery is mounted inside the case.
My long term solution was to buy a ring terminal to EC8 pig tail that I let hang out the back of the generator. The EC8 plug goes directly into my lithium jumper pack and starts the generator better than the factory battery does.
An inverter is good for Glamping or RV parks, but you need brute force too keep your entire house going (and to throw an extension cord over the fence for your neighbor's c-pap and fridge)
When you see those monster 22,000w Generacs (installed for $25k, plus $1k a year for maintenance contract) on the TV infomercials, those are not inverters either.
Salesmen will talk about 'clean power' and 'protect sensitive electronics' to sell you a complicated inverter, but if you look at all the review videos on the Predator 13000, they show 8% THD at full load. That's actually better than my power company, who brings 9% THD to the meter.
You want as simple as can be for a whole-house. Simple to maintain, simple to switch from Utility to Gen power. Because when you can't bring your generator online in an emergency, you are totally stuck; all of the generator techs are out servicing their clients who have maintenance contracts.
