I don't get it... is 5800 about $1000 more expensive than 5070? I got my 5070 one from Costco for $1499 pretax, similar cpu/mem etc.

Downgrading this to the 5070 Ti I got on the 4th of July is $800 more expensive than what I paid. We are truly living through wild times.

That's understandable. If it were me, I rather build my own PC instead, but if you're in a pinch and have the budget for this prebuild then I don't necessarily see anything wrong w/ buying one. However, I consider myself a pretty decent bargain hunter and I could probably do slightly better w/ comparable parts or on par w/ this deal.

Real benefit in included 2-year "premium" (=paid shipping) warranty and some extra "value" in entering their GPU lottery and possibly winning a FE, Prime, or one of those +$91 more etc. 5080. (it'll probably be a PNY though)

And a reminder that these 5080 "deals" vs. 5070ti ones always bloat the actual $500 and 10% difference.

Wild times for sure but I think it more has to do with we got so spoiled by how cheap things got. Consider this. The Apple IIe came out in 1983 and had 64kb of RAM and cost $1,395 or the equivalent of $4,676.86 in todays money https://www.in2013dollars.com/us/...mount=1395 and 64kb is literally just 0.00019% of 32GB so 32GB is 500,000 times more than 64kb. I tell people all the time we live in the future and not sure if people truly understand what i mean or how far along technology has truly advanced in the past 40ish years.

I think ppl have been saying that since last October, including me as a PC seller, and everything has only gotten gradually worse since then. With the memory manufacturers already having their future production pre-sold through 2027, which will most definitely stretch for many years past that with the current AI data center demand, so there's just no real date to look forward to for better pricing. The best time to buy PC's/Parts was 6+ months ago when everyone seen the prices rising and were saying the same thing('ill just wait), only to see the prices keep rising. I'm honestly close to just tearing apart all of the pcs I have listed to sell all of the new parts individually, because I would likely make way more money than just selling the PCs. The majority of the population still has no clue about the increase in prices on computer parts so they look at all of the listings for fully built PC's like they are just insanely overpriced.
