32G DDR4 Sodimm (16G x 2) costs $180. A 256G ssd costs $52.
Just these 2 removable components worth $232.
And the price of RAM continues to rise. If this trend continues, 32G DD4 SODIMM would cost $330 in a few months.
That would be the same as the price of this laptop.

This is a business class laptop. More robust build quality. Uber light laptops fall apart

I own this configuration. Screen is low brightness and works indoors fine but outside it's hardly visible. The 32 gb of RAM, ssd and processor fly for basic tasks. This is a business class machine. Build quality is far beyond anything u can get new for under $800. Dock this with 2 x 2k 32" screens and an external keyboard and mouse and u have a very capable setup for under $700.

This refurbished EliteBook 645 G9 stands out as a business laptop with 32GB of RAM, a Ryzen PRO 5675U, and a sturdy EliteBook build that feels fast for everyday school, office, and light development work. The memory and SSD make the price feel reasonable, and the machine is described as capable when docked with external monitors and peripherals. The main drawbacks are the dim 250 nit display, limited color, and only one USB C port, with the barrel charger taking the other slot. Battery wear and a webcam listing discrepancy also deserve a closer look, making it best suited to buyers who value specs and durability over screen quality.

Common Questions (5)

  • Yes. The Ryzen PRO 5675U and 32GB RAM are enough for essays, research, Excel, and other routine school or office tasks, and the machine is described as fast for basic use. It is also a business-class laptop with sturdier build quality than many cheap ultralights.

    atlascoregrassroots_1ChrisC6090

  • The 14" FHD panel is low brightness at 250 nits and 45% NTSC, so it is fine indoors but hard to see outside. It makes the most sense if you plan to dock it or use an external monitor much of the time.

    Dubiousgrassroots_1PowerfulName4771

  • At $330, the 32GB RAM alone is a major part of the value, and the rest of the laptop is effectively bundled in. The 32GB DDR4 SODIMM and 256GB SSD are estimated at about $232 in removable parts alone, which makes the asking price look reasonable for a business-class machine.

    tyiu48ChrisC6090Dr.W

  • It is fine for routine work, but it can be a bottleneck for video editing, 3D rendering, and compiling large code projects. For those tasks, newer Intel 13th/14th gen refurb options may be better, even with less RAM.

    PowerfulName4771RobVIP

  • The listing is inconsistent: some photos and the description show a 720p HD camera, while Newegg's own description says "Webcam No." That makes the webcam inclusion uncertain until the exact unit is confirmed.

I wish the display weren't terrible. 250 nits and 45% NTSC? I guess if you're gonna dock this and use a monitor 90% of the time it would be ok.

The processor is weak. It is close to a 12th gen i5. So almost 4 years old at this point. Also doesn't have 2 USB C. Only one USB C and the other is a barrel type port for charging. Not sure of the value here.
Wtf u talking about? This cpu is great for the price! Show me better cpu for a business class laptop for this price. U usually get intel 10-11 gen cpus at this price range

Wish the screen was brighter and the weight was 2lbs or under. Gotta get my teen a computer but man are options slim right now. She'll be using Adobe graphics programs lightly. Closest deal I have seen lately that closes in on my needs I think.

I posted this yesterday.

My engineering school kid has had one for a year, and it does the job. She even spilled water all over the keyboard once. She let it dry over a weekend, and it's working fine.

Just bought another one for my college freshman.

What about the weak processor? Intel 12th gen i5 equivalent? That is really the biggest weak link in this chain. These TN HP low brightness panels are awful, but I guess if you dock it in or use as a HTPC it is fine.
To be fair 12th gen intel had big leap over 10,11th gen, and then all other new gens had incremental improvements in performance, so the 12th gen is not much slower that the latest gen, not sure where your point of concert coming from

You're buying it for the ram and it comes with a free computer on the side
