I have the larger EAP670 and a few in-wall units (2x EAP655, 1x EAP725) meshed with the Omada controller software (through LXC) and it's easily the best Wi-Fi system I've ever used. Once the controller is set up and the APs are bound, it just works.

The EAP670 is also available with the resale discount, but there's no guarantee which version you get. V1 is larger, but has more antennas and better range.

If you can hardwire these, they are fantastic, especially at this price.

The only issue I've had with an older Omada AC mesh system (wired backhaul, had an Omada controller) was inconsistent handoff between nodes. Uptime was great though.

I own two of their APs - EAP670 and EAP650-Outdoor. They work great for me. I'm concerned about TP-Link being banned in the US but I don't plan on buying additional APs anytime soon.

This isn't like when Big Brother bans pew-pew devices. You don't have to give your TP-Link back. The FCC just will stop approving new hardware.

Thank you for pointing this out. Both the 2.5g backbone AP and the fact that you can run the controller in LXC.

The AP will discover each other, but without an omada switch, the APs were chained in my case. This means all traffic of one AP goes through the other one. This is despite they were connected to the same switch.

Once I put in an omada switch, they are now parallel to each other, talking to the controller software directly.

Apparently this is a common problem.

Anyone who deploys these in a business of more than a couple staff is screwing his clients. I wouldn't consider Ubiquiti enterprise grade, and they're a big step up from tp-link.

I disagree. Omada is corporate. Festa is prosumer. The Festa also has the advantage of having the controller be 100% software-based in the app.
