I bought one of these exact units direct from the manufacturer. You need to have a vacuum pump and HVAC gauges to remove all of the air and moisture before releasing the refrigerant. I bought my pump and gauges for ~$150 years ago and have used both a few times to install mini splits for family and myself. The unit comes with 16.5ft linesets and communication wires to match. The included drain hose is shorter by a few feet. It also includes the electrical whip in the box to go from the disconnect to the unit, which I did not expect, and they use rubber grommets for the wires. I opted to make my own watertight whip instead, but probably would have been fine. All in all, I paid $408 for the unit and around ~$100-150 in concrete, romex, breaker, THHN wire, flexible conduit, and a disconnect box for code compliance. I paid double for my Senville units in the other parts of my house just for the units themselves, not including the rest of it. Also, the WiFi controller is a Tuya controller. As such, if you're using a home automation system like Home Assistant, it will integrate just fine if your system supports adding Tuya-controlled devices (other than a Fahrenheit to Celsius conversion bug I ran into). If you're already using the Tuya or Smart Life app for other home stuff, you can just straight up add this device to your app without using the Cozeware app. It's all going to the same place and is just a rebranded app.Finally, some people were concerned with the units failing "in a year or two". However, this company covers the units for 5 years for general failure and 7 years for the compressor. And they also explicitly state that DIY installs are covered, unless you screw something up during install that causes your unit to fail. Assuming the company doesn't go under, seems like a decent bet. I also reached out to their customer service team with questions regarding the Tuya API for my home automation system and they responded within a few hours. Overall, I've been really impressed for the price I paid. If it keeps chugging along, I'll probably keep buying their units.
If you use the Cozeway app, you shouldn't have an issue with F vs C. At least I don't with 24k BTU E-Save Series.

In for one - I saw there are two different 12k 230v units on Amazon. Anyone know the difference between the Visio model and the Enduring series. ~$40 price difference between the two.

The description says the Visio is more heavy duty and the Enduring is made for residential?? Specs look the same.

You can DIY it but you definitely need to vacuum the line set.
I installed my Pioneers about 8-9 years ago and one of them lost refrigerant a year ago. I guess it's either this or try to recharge it myself.

I have installed both E-Save and Vision 24k units. Both perform about the same. I do like the E-Save better as the Wifi app options are significantly better. Also lower power usage on E-Save from what i gather

Haven't owned one of these before but would like one for a room in the house that gets hot. Are they hard to maintain? I'm not understanding what everyone means by needing a vacuum pump.
