The Orochi V2 is a compact wireless gaming mouse that works especially well for small hands, travel, and laptop use. It gets praise for responsive tracking, satisfying clicks, and the flexibility to run on AAA or AA batteries, with Hypershift adding useful button remapping. Long-term results are uneven, though, with reports of freezing, click failures, scroll wheel problems, and connection issues after months or years of use. The white shell also seems to resist staining. A handy small mouse if portability matters more than desktop comfort.

Common Questions (4)

  • Long-term reports range from several years with no issues to failures after 18 months to 3 years, including freezing, left-click failure, scroll-wheel failure, middle-button double-clicking, and connection problems. It can be very reliable, but durability problems are also reported.

  • It suits small hands well and is a strong fit for a portable gaming-laptop setup. It is also usable for palm grip and FPS play, but it is less ideal as a permanent desktop mouse.

  • Yes. It can take either a AAA or AA battery, which makes it flexible for swapping power sources.

  • It can run on NiMH batteries, but it may constantly show low-power warnings because of the lower voltage and may last only about a month before needing a recharge. Standard alkaline or other higher-voltage options avoid that warning behavior.

I've had this thing for almost 2 years now, and they have replaced it 3 times already. 1st it was the mouse would freeze out of the blue, then the 2nd one was that the left click would not work and the 3rd time the middle button would start clicking on it's own. I would advise against this mouse.
I've had mine for 4 years without any issues ever. I cannot recommend it enough. Somehow you got 3 lemons lol

I also can not recommend this mouse due to reliability and durability issues.

During the first 2 years of ownership, I had to RMA it twice. First the scroll wheel stopped working. In the second one, the left click stopped working). During year 3, the mouse started having connection issues on multiple devices and is now e-waste.

For those who owned the white colored version, any problems with staining? Was an issue with the Logitech MX Masters to avoid any light colored versions.

My dead one (white) has no staining after about 18 months of daily use.

I got this in Dec 22 for $1 more. And recently gave it away to family and now using G305. They feel about the same to me, though I like the scroll wheel more on the 305 (maybe it's because the Razer has been used for so long). I do kinda like how this one can take a AAA or AA. I really use it for day to day work; and some light gaming.
Whatever is cheaper.
