I personally wouldn't date spend nearly $20 on a 95%+ polyester dress. This is basically how all cheap Aliexpress, Temu, noname Chinese rebrands are made. They are cheap manufactured slippery, slick feeling dresses. These are $7 dresses on Temu being flipped on Amazon after being rebranded. I personally don't like them at all.

I also feel like ranting about this a little, so let me see if I can help you out.

I have 3 daughters, and a wife, all of which are girly girls who like wearing nice dresses and skirts, and I would go broke if I didn't have a few tips on clothes shopping for girls dresses that look stylish, but can also be legitimately quality.

My personal favorite location - Nordstrom Rack

Regularly I am able to take my girls there to go look at and try on dresses and they regularly find designer dresses that were $200 retail in the $25-35 dollar range, and 100% cotton. Be careful, even the high end department stores still are sneaking in cheap polyester crap now, or some other similar material, but nope, you can legit find great stuff here. My youngest 11 year old daughter recently found an AMAZING white summer dress for like $15 dollars there and she has gotten so many compliments on it. My wife got a new dress she wore for a weekend trip at the Palazzo/Venetian in Las Vegas and had random women complimenting her how nice it was. We went for lunch at The Wynn and had beautiful dresses here that felt high end, and you felt like you fit in and belonged as a woman, and they looked like they did too. All my girls' dresses on that trip, including my wife, were anywhere from $25, to I think my wife's one was $40.

My second favorite location, and usually cheaper, is TJ Maxx. This place is hit and miss, and it regularly has a lot of cheap quality stuff too, but you know how often they find quality, 100% cotton type dress and skirts at a $20 or cheaper price? ALL THE TIME. This place is a hidden gem because there are some people that just don't think to shop here because they think of it like a budget cheap place. You might not be getting designer stuff, but you can find high quality stuff here too. Fun fact, you can even find Full Grain leather stuff in the belts and purses and so on too. Most of it is not amazing, but some of it is actually really great.

I want to give a special shout out to "Macy's Backstage" as well, which is just the Clearance section inside a Macy's department store. Regularly find great stuff here too, but in my experience, you can't beat the Nordstrom Rack pricing. Typically great selection though of good priced stuff.

And my final shout out would be to Land's End. Though, no stores are near me so we just buy online. Land's End is a very high-quality clothing store, like LL Bean, and so on, but decidedly more preppy, everyday wear style clothes. You can get consistently great quality stuff here. Go to their website, go to the sales, filter to women > clothing > Dresses, and you will regularly see their $150 dresses on clearance for $25. Lots of high quality really cute stuff.

Just my opinion, but avoid buying cheap polyester-based clothing that comes from no-name Chinese brands. Over and over these cheap clothes have been found to use toxic textile chemicals that are banned in much of the world. Polyester itself is not necessarily bad for you to wear, even though it just feels cheaper, but you do still have to worry about the microfibers of Polyester clothing that you might end up inhaling in your home. So, in other words, if you can get cotton fibers, that feel nicer, and are more premium a quality textile, and in a similar price range, just do that over cheap stuff like this. Just my opinion.
