Lol HP = Hinge Problems
Is that the only thing you could come up with those letters? HP has never been synonymous with hinge problems. That was Lenovo, and that too only that particular year's lineup; as Samsung was with its AMOLED display cracks. HP has mainly been criticized for its non-existant customer support, hardly ever for hinge or build quality.
Which Elitebook X is it? I am reading that they have G1a and G1i. Since it's a refurb, do we know what the warranty is on the battery? The 1 year warranty is not an onsite warranty and there's no way to upgrade it?
On paper, yes, but stay away from Elitebooks. My company bought brand new ones and most fail within 2 years for various reasons.
I love how you're getting downvoted for presenting a large-scale dataset, which is actually useful, by people who probably own a single laptop and don't want to hear this

It is G1a. The "a" and "i" stand for AMD or Intel processor

No... I've had hinge problems on the HP Pavilion Series. Hinge broke out on a foldable 2 in 1 and pushed the screen completely out. Garbage materials, poor design, high leverage... But maybe it was just certain years or models.

Appreciate you sharing that. However, a couple of things worth mentioning here:
The pavilion series was from 2023 or before. This is a current 2026 laptop.
This is not the pavilion series. That got discontinued around 3 years ago when OmniBooks got introduced.
This is not a 2-in-1 but a plain clamshell laptop. The hinge problem should not be in question then.
There's a world of difference in the build quality between the pavilion series and this EliteBook. The pavilion you had might have been the bottom of the barrel model/series.
There's a chance you were converting it by rotating it from the corners of the display rather than the center or both corners together.
I don't exactly see how any of the things you mentioned apply to this particular product or deal over here.
