The chain cleaner brush contraption works OK if of good quality, but the cheap chinesium copies (the parktool and "OG" designs are Chinese made also, as is everything last 15+ years) often have mediocre fitment and can get damaged when in use or just being thrown around. Do expect to waste a lot of degreaser using that.
As always it is better to apply lube carefully a drop at a time and only on the rollers, wiping the excess off to prevent buildup to begin with. If uou have heavy buildup that would necessitate using the flash or the plastic teeth thingy on your cassette, you have probably neglected cleaning your bike for months already.
