The refurbished Sony WH 1000XM6 stands out for top tier sound and noise cancelling, with several reports that units arrive looking brand new and include the case and cables. The sound is described as highly detailed and even better after EQ tuning, and pairing is quick. A few caveats come up around refurb condition and reliability, including visible scuffs or dirt on some units, occasional clipping or popping in the right ear cup, and rare microstutters on a Google TV Streamer. The Allstate coverage is described as handling normal hardware breakdowns, not accidental damage.
Common Questions (5)
It can arrive looking brand new, and some units include the case and all cables. A few buyers did note visible wear such as scuff marks, gently used ear cups, or no box, so condition can vary by unit.
The XM6 is described as sounding excellent out of the box, with strong separation and very good noise canceling. Compared with older Bose QuietComfort models and the XM3, it can sound very close after EQ tuning, though some still prefer the XM3 bass.
Allstate coverage applies to hardware breakdown during normal use, including band or hinge failure, but not accidental damage. The practical caveat is that claims should be described as normal breakdown rather than accidental damage.
The coupon may require clicking "apply coupon" at checkout before it takes effect. If it still does not apply, the code may be failing for some carts.
A unit can develop clipping or popping in the right ear cup within a week, and another report mentions occasional microstutters or brief cutouts when paired to a Google TV Streamer. Those issues were not reported on PC or phone in that case.
