I bought this unit, and it somewhat works. Has a number of files limitation, where it will not display my whole collection of MP3s, which is under 32GB. Maybe if you use FLAC or WAV, it would work well, as the number of files on 32GB would be less.
Also would not work on Bluetooth speakers that support TWS. It sends the signal as a Right channel muted.
I kept it because it is much easier to review new music just by adding songs to the SDXC card, rather than cabling an iPhone to a computer and opening iTunes to transfer the songs.
Some people just like having a separate device solely for music, seem to find it less distracting or something. Not me, personally, just I have heard it.
There's also a case to be made for those who don't want to impact the battery on their phone as well.
There are people who want to do everything on their phone and that's awesome. However, there are also people who prefer to break out activities into e-readers, digital audio players, etc. and that's awesome, too.
Do what works best for you.

This is a tiny Bluetooth MP3 player best suited for carrying a local music library without using a phone. It is handy for loading songs onto a microSD card, and the headphone cable can double as an FM antenna. The main appeal is simple offline listening, whether for exercise, a separate music device, or pairing with a speaker. The weak spots are the software and build, with reports of file limits, broken playlists, awkward Bluetooth behavior with TWS speakers, flimsy plastic, and EQ controls that do not work well.
Common Questions (5)
It feels very lightweight and plasticky, and multiple buyers returned it for being flimsy. The upside is that its low weight may help it survive a short drop, but the build quality is still described as cheap.
It can have file-management limits that prevent the full MP3 collection from showing, even when the library is under 32GB. Playlist support is also reported as missing or broken, and long filenames can cause problems.
It uses only the included microSD card for storage and has no internal memory. Music has to be transferred to the card, typically with a microSD card reader.
Bluetooth pairing can work, but it reportedly has trouble with TWS speakers because the signal comes through with the right channel muted. That makes it a poor fit for some stereo Bluetooth setups.
The custom EQ reportedly does not work, and the preset EQ modes like Rock and Funk are described as poor. The practical workaround is to leave EQ turned off.

EDIT: using a microsd card reader to transfer files
I bought the original and returned it also I'm happy with the Yoton
See attached:
And, the preset EQs (Rock, Funk, etc) sucks.
So, I just leave EQ set to off.
