This is a tiny Bluetooth MP3 player best suited for carrying a local music library without using a phone. It is handy for loading songs onto a microSD card, and the headphone cable can double as an FM antenna. The main appeal is simple offline listening, whether for exercise, a separate music device, or pairing with a speaker. The weak spots are the software and build, with reports of file limits, broken playlists, awkward Bluetooth behavior with TWS speakers, flimsy plastic, and EQ controls that do not work well.

  • The player can make it easier to review new music by adding songs directly to the SDXC card instead of cabling a phone to a computer.

  • The device can serve as a separate mini music station by pairing with a Bluetooth speaker for more distraction-free listening at gatherings.

  • The coupon and promo can make the 64GB version close in price to the 32GB option, improving storage value when the discount applies.

  • The lightweight design may help it survive minor drops, since it is very light and reportedly survived a 3-4 ft drop expectation.

  • The player can limit how many files it displays, so a full MP3 collection may not show even when total storage is under 32GB.

  • Bluetooth audio can have channel issues with TWS speakers, including right-channel muting during playback.

  • File management can be frustrating because filename length restrictions can cause software problems and playlists may not be supported or may get messed up.

  • The product description can be misleading because storage may be only the provided microSD card with no internal memory, requiring a card reader for transfers.

I'm sure this has it's use for kids. If you're an adult with a cellphone you can just buy a lifetime license to PowerAmp on Google Play store and have yourself a fantastic audio play back device.
I think that and for people that want a break from their phone but still want music for their work out / camping trips / drives, etc.

Yeah, may be good for kids.
I had this for a day and returned it. Feels extremely cheap and plasticky. Kids will destroy this in a week.

Have another recommendation then? My niece wanted her first mp3 player and she's ~8.

Completely agree. Young people also want to go back to owning their own music, their own movies, etc. They want something they own that a corporation can't take away from them.
gen z here. you are absolutely right in every respect.

this player is pretty cute and looks like a nice way to carry digital files of many of the cd's i have bought in the last three years. i'm done with spotify, apple music, etc.

I decided I could throw around $50 into checking one of these out and seeing how I liked it. I almost got the Snowsky Echo because it looks cool, but after doing some research I went with the Hiby R4. Between MP3 codes I got with vinyl records and Amazon AutoRip I was shocked at how many MP3s I already owned. I picked up and ripped a ton of cds that I've gotten for free or for a buck each. Between this and finding cool online radio stations where actual humans pick the music, Spotify can kick rocks.

Independent MP3 players have some uses, notably the real small ones are nice sometimes for exercise. I hated bringing my phone on jogs, just too heavy. This one seems kind of big to me though. Some people also like to pair a device like this basically permanently to a Bluetooth speaker, basically making a mini music station, that way they don't have to think about it or can leave it out for anyone to mess with at gatherings. Some people just like having a separate device solely for music, seem to find it less distracting or something. Not me, personally, just I have heard it.
I'm still using my iPod classic, I've got almost 30k songs in my library that I ripped from my CD collection. Also, there are tons of great speakers with 30 pin docks out there, I'm currently using a nice Sony setup in my office that I got at a thrift store for $4, it sounds great!

Arrrrgggg! Sail the high seas, Matey! But seriously, I've ripped every single one of the 2,000 CDs I own, so I've got all those. Some of those aren't on any streaming platform I've ever used, so I'm happy I took the time 20 years ago to do that, and happy I no longer have to do it too often anymore as I don't buy too many CDs these days.
2000 you say? To shreds you say? Where do you live? Can me and my friend "Western Digital" come visit you for a day?

I have about 45 GB of music on my phone, so the 32 gb is too small. So I tried the coupon and promo code on the 64 GB version of this on the same page and it took them. $21.14 before tax for the 64GB and that's $3.15 more for twice the memory.

Might want to read the comments on the previous Frontpage deal:

https://slickdeals.net/f/19804392-conodo-32gb-bluetooth-5-3-mp3-player-w-1-8-screen-fm-radio-18-50

I bought this unit, and it somewhat works. Has a number of files limitation, where it will not display my whole collection of MP3s, which is under 32GB. Maybe if you use FLAC or WAV, it would work well, as the number of files on 32GB would be less.

Also would not work on Bluetooth speakers that support TWS. It sends the signal as a Right channel muted.

I kept it because it is much easier to review new music just by adding songs to the SDXC card, rather than cabling an iPhone to a computer and opening iTunes to transfer the songs.
I had an iPod once and iTunes is such a PIA. Turned me away from Apple. Makes things so complicated when there is no need to be. Drag and drop forever.
