Serial port? That's VGA video out.

These are corporate computers. Most projectors still have a VGA in for powerpoint presentations.

These are 10th gen mini PCs with USB-C ports... Companies were still using them from 2022-2024. Very nice, low power machines the size of a small dining plate.

Serial port is 9 pins, VGA is 15. That's definitely a serial port.

Pretty solid for the price. I'd be sold if it had a pci e for a small for factor GPU, like some lenovos do, but looks like there's multiple m.2 slots so oculink is still an option.
