How are these with respect to performance?

I know the previous gen was pretty terrible, or at best, mediocre. Anyone have any experience with this model versus other multi-tools?

Not sure why Home Depot started selling tools with batteries, but without a charger?

I like the option to buy without a charger. If you are buying your first tool in the line then you obviously need a charger, but most of us end up buying several different tools in the same brand/line and end up with multiple chargers. It's a waste of money to have to get another charger with each tool, so I think that is why some sales are offered without.

Regarding the deal. I was not happy with the power/performance of the Ryobi drill I purchased and have moved away from the Ryobi tools in favor of the FUEL line of Milwaukee. To me, Milwaukee is worth the extra cost for the extra power.

Their primary target customer for these tools are contractors. If every tool came with a charger, contractors would end up with dozens of extra chargers they don't need. It's cost effective to sell the chargers separately, and probably a request a lot of contractors made. "I already have five chargers. Please sell tools without them and lower the price. "
