Main differences between the two are going to be designed but they both blow air at "turbo" speed in comparison to pretty much every other fan on Amazon in it's competing class.

I might have the links mixed up in place but those are the links to the older and newer models.
And whether this helps or not, I have dropped this fan a handful of times on asphalt from 4 feet up in stride and nothing has happened to it as far as mechanically and maybe a ding or two of chipped plastic.

Some might say why didn't they just create a single fan that did both and the simple answer would be, cost. If they did that they would have to charge a premium and premium is not something a majority of people will probably like to pay for a little fan like this. Have fun at the amusement park!
