There are two things I would never buy from eBay: SD cards and AirPods.

The chances of getting a fake are just too high. Whether the seller is knowingly selling counterfeits or someone returned a fake item that ended up back in inventory, I just wouldn't take the risk.

I'd only buy them if I knew for sure they were coming directly from a trusted retailer's own inventory, like Apple or Costco. I probably wouldn't even buy them from Amazon unless the price was extremely good.

These are good rules for eBay purchases however this is a known seller and in addition it is stated that they are brand new and fully warranted. It is also backed by eBay guarantee. I have purchased AirPods from this seller before and they have worked without issues

Ordered one. Will see how they come. Either way it can be return no question asked. Have ordered more than 30 item from this walmart seller and only 1 was not has described.

I used Gemini to evaluate the seller and almost wish I didn't as there's a bunch of new stuff I never thought of to be worried about such as:

The previously mentioned return swap scams
Apple ID/"Find my" lock issues

But also this seller has been active since 2002. $144 is worth it just for negating neighbors leaf blowing/lawn mower sounds to me. Multiple reviews implying it appeared to be like new from the charging case ultimately make me want to wait for black friday.

Agreed bought new open box from a deal earlier this year and they came scratched and you could see earwax on them. Will never buy again. Luckily I was able to return after some back and forth including some pushback from eBay to the seller based on other complaints
