This coiled Orbit hose and nozzle set is best for short, light-duty watering, especially when you want a compact hose that does not need winding. The 1 half inch hose and 8 pattern nozzle are handy for plants and indoor jobs like a water heater flush, and the lower pressure can be useful for gentler watering. The main tradeoff is durability and flow, since the hose is thinner than a standard 3 quarter inch hose and has been described as cracking or wearing out after a season or two. It feels like a practical short term tool rather than a long life outdoor hose.
Homeowners flushing a water heater, because the coiled hose is short enough for that indoor task and does not need winding.
It can work for a season or two, but the hose can crack after limited use and should not be expected to last long outdoors. Keeping it inside or using it for lighter, occasional tasks can help stretch its life.
The 1/2-inch coil hose has lower flow than a regular 3/4-inch garden hose, and the nozzle setup can feel like it has really bad pressure. It is better suited for short-distance watering or gentler plant watering than for high-flow jobs.
Yes, it can be a practical cheap option for a water heater flush, especially if you only need it once a year. Several comments frame it as a good low-cost use case, but not something to rely on for long-term outdoor duty.
The single hose has been seen for about $7.xx, and with a clippable coupon it can drop to around $6.05, making it a better value if you only need one. The 2-pack makes more sense only if you actually need both hoses.
Orbit only makes trash. I don't care what the price is, I'd advise not buying their crap. Everything single orbit thing I've had has failed regardless of water type used, bringing in for the season etc. Only their metal sprinkler has survived, but I stop used it because i can't get enough pressure of it to make it worth owning.

correct: ~100% more flow rate out of 3/4" compared to 1/2". llikely nobody is going to notice the difference because people use the end sprayer attachments.
I am not saying this is a good product.

Heads up, I've had these for a couple years, they crack easy after a season or 2 (not left outside in winter) can be cut and shortened, but don't expect long life from these. I've gone through a few. At this price it's decent, just know they will crack.

I've had a similar coiled hose for about 3 years, and it's awesome. No need to wind it up. But I keep it in my garage, not outside in the elements.
The only small negative is that 1/2" is thinner than a regular 3/4" garden hose, so the flow rate isn't as high.
Possibly... if it was kept in some kind of bucket (with holes on the bottom to let out any water/moisture) and a lid/cover over the bucket.
At least that's what I would try... in the hot Arizona sun.
