I have don't a lot of foreign but mostly by air, foot, train, or an occasional car rental. I feel like I would feel too much like a tourist on a cruise. For those with experience, is it worth doing? Is this actually a good deal as cruises go?

I have never cruised on Virgin, but over the past 25 years have cruised on Carnival, Disney, and Royal Caribbean. These prices seem really good compared to other Royal Caribbean offers I have seen. I think the big thing to keep in mind is they have fewer ports to debark from, so many may have to fly (none in Texas for me). But even with some cheap flights thrown in, you are still under what Royal Caribbean often charges on their sales, so I think this is a "go" for me if you want to try a cruise. The best part of Cruising is how relaxing it is, and hanging out on beaches, etc. I would go into it thinking differently than a typical vacation, where you go to a place to explore it, or live in it for a bit.

Yes, you would feel very much like a tourist on a cruise. You'd be on a ship with 2700 of your newest friends. If you were on a Caribbean cruise, you'd likely be sharing ports of call with other cruise ships which means many more new friends. It might be a good deal as far as cruises go, but I doubt it is a good deal for you.

The best part of this deal, is Virgin is an adult only cruise. So no babies/children ..... Well, correction, no one under 18, because "children" is very subjective

Virgin is our favorite cruise line now. They have amazing food, no main dining room like all the other lines, but, all the speciality resturants are INCLUDED in the price, as is WIFI. If you are a foodie, this is the line for you, unless you're a rich foodie, then you go on the 10k per room suite on whatever line you want

"$99 per night" is actually $1,386 per Cabin for 7 days

I get cruises around $400 so this is extra expensive

Almost all cruise "sales" are perpetual rotating gimmicks.
The only way to really know is to track an itinerary you are interested in and see how it totals out for your particular group size over time.
