It's ddr4 RAM so it's not a crazy deal. You can get 16gb for about $100. Single board computers like the Raspberry Pi are overpriced due to the component crisis, but you're paying for the form factor and power efficiency I guess. performance, I wouldn't get my hopes up. They're good for browsing the web and other basic tasks. Great for docker containers. But not great for gaming.

Correct. I have the Pi 400 myself and this is it's successor, but also has the NVME slot.

$200 is the Sept 2025 launch and MSRP (non rampocalypse) price. It shot up +$150 in April 2026 due to LPDDR4 prices. So this is a reasonable price for those holding out to buy one.

It's an ok price consider RAM prices and it comes with an SSD.

You need to pay for micro-HDMI cables seperately, as well as a PSU, which I find ridiculous since this is supposed to be an all-in-one solution.

I think the 16GB RAM is not necessary. I should've ben 8GB RAM with a lower MSRP. The bottleneck is the CPU. It is much slower than say an Intel N100.

This is a fantastic deal for this product, but most people won't need it. If you have a raspberry pi from a generation or two ago, this will feel like a massive upgrade. I run Ubuntu on a 8gb RPI 5 and it is very fast and responsive.

However, if you are new to RPI and don't have a specific use in mind, it may be more beneficial to go with an x86_64 (standard AMD or Intel) mini PC for compatibility with a broader range of software and games.

I'm not well versed in the current gaming landscape and pricing. I doubt there is a decent system for $200, but if you can expand your budget, you should be able to find an rog ally Z1 Extreme in the 350-400 range used on marketplace or eBay. The value in that is it can play more than just ps3 games (any PC game). AMD Z1 handhelds still hold up today even for most modern PC games.

But do your own research to find a device (handheld or not) that fits your needs and if the device can play the games you are planning on playing.
