I recently picked one of these up and couldn't be happier. YMMV and maybe I just got lucky, but it was only missing the box it came in. They packaged it in another HDTV box and wrapped it very well with bubble wrap and tape. Was afraid to unwrap so I didn't get to really inspect it before I left. Got it home, unpackaged and started it up and everything was as new. Was told it was customer return because it was too big for their room. Well it turned out to be perfect for mine!
Like I said YMMV with an item llike this but I am glad I pulled the trigger. Added a 2 year warranty for peace of mind..
