I could see how this would be very useful. It would be great if the batteries lasted a year without a constant connection to a device.

This is a good idea (and deal), but I just use my luggage scale and the tare weight of the tank itself. Works well enough for me.

I just put my tank on the bathroom scale when I think it's getting low. Empty tanks weight around 18 pounds. I used Grok to calculate how many hours I have left. That is probably just as accurate as that thing.

Use this quick guide to estimate your remaining cook time based on the math:

15 to 20 lbs of propane: Full tank. You have roughly 18 to 20 hours of total grilling time.
10 lbs of propane: Half full. You have about 9 to 10 hours left.
5 lbs of propane: Quarter full. You have about 4 to 5 hours left—time to think about a refill soon.
0 lbs of propane: The scale matches the TW stamp. The tank is completely empty.
