T-Mobile Fiber is a straightforward home internet option best known for low introductory pricing on 1 gig and 2 gig service, with some installs also including free eero hardware, gift cards, and multi year price locks. The fiber service is often described as symmetrical, fast enough for streaming, gaming, Zoom, and heavy uploads, and some installs even over provision above the advertised speed. The main concerns are availability, CGNAT on some setups, and uncertainty about whether price locks will hold. Installation can also involve trenching or drilling, so local build quality matters.

  • The 300 Mbps plan reportedly performs well and can increase up to around 500 Mbps.

  • T-Mobile Fiber is described as having no data cap on usage, with speed as the main limitation.

  • Fiber installation reportedly uses underground conduit and minimizes yard digging to a junction box area.

  • Some new T-Fiber installs reportedly deliver full symmetrical 2Gb upload and download speeds without issues so far.

  • CGNAT is described as a major drawback, and it can be a dealbreaker for users needing static public IPs.

  • T-Mobile Fiber price-lock reliability is questioned because service names can change and higher charges may be required.

  • T-Mobile 5G home internet reportedly has work-from-home authentication problems and laggy gaming performance.

  • T-Mobile Fiber service reportedly experienced long outages in one area, including multiple full-day disruptions.

Not available in most places... Plus T-Mobile has been pretty anti-consumer recently (i.e. not honoring their price locks and price guarantee) So i am not sure how good of a deal this is. AT&T has 1gb for $50 bucks +200 back as cash card. Sounds like a better deal to me...
+1 on the T-Mobile being anti customer lately , AT&T suddenly is looking good Smilie

Who here actually has that flexibility? I've never seen that before for residential service (having one fiber line and getting to choose who your provider is), but doesn't mean there might be some area that has that.
In my subdivision we not only have T mobile fiber, ATT Fiber just finished their install so we'll have them as an option plus we have Spectrum. Just switched from Spectrum "1GB" at a retiring $50 promo rate to T mobile for $50/1GB with first two months free and "5yr price lock." I'm not holding my breath on the price lock due to t mobile history.

Curious if you know whether T-Mobile and AT&T Fiber actually share the same "endpoint" fiber line to your home, or if they have separate lines?

Just be aware that the fiber line needs to be installed from hub to your wall and requires digging the lawn/ground. They will take care of it for you but it all depends on well of a job they do with drilling a whole to your wall and covering up the dug area.

They are coming to my neighborhood but CGNAT is a non starter for me. I tried looking if they offered a static IP but couldn't find any concrete info.

edit: I see some comments here saying $10 extra for static IP so I may look into it.

I tried this and said what T-Mobile was offering me and they were just like sorry we have no deals to offer you except one and it would have upped my monthly bill. So I will see if they have anything new now though.

Available in Davenport Iowa. It used to be Meteonet Fiber. I have been on the 2GB plan for 70 a month. I get 2gb down and 1GB up for speeds.

it is same as download speed up to 500MB per second. Optic fiber provide equal upload and download speed.

I highly doubt that...this will be similar to a gas line...you pick your provider regardless of who owns the line
Even with gas that is highly variable by state...

Unlikely to be able to pick and choose your fiber provider, if you can get fiber at all. I'll take any company just to have it.
I dont know what we did but we have 3 different fiber options and 3 different 5G providers. The most current is offering 7GB down and up for 100 bucks a month. I live in a pretty small town not sure what we did. Lol
