The trick with this is look at the logo. One dude= trash Chinese steel (plus it says china) made in china, Taiwan, etc. two dudes= good steel made in Germany, Japan. I.e. this is the trash you don't want. Look at Zwilling vs Henckels. Same parent company but think Cadillac vs GMC

From various experiences, Henckels is at best a well marketed medium tier knife, with some of their lineups complete garbage. Even on sale it costs too much for what you get. You'll never be able to compare these to brands like Wusthof or Global.

Mercer is consistently a best value better quality knife.
