The Elite Series 2 Core is a highly customizable Xbox controller built for players who want extra paddles, remapping, trigger locks, and a weighted, premium feel. It stands out for comfort and precision, with tight buttons and sticks, strong battery life, and durability that can outlast standard controllers in heavy use. The main concern is reliability, especially stick drift, bumper failures, grip peeling, and occasional button issues. For some setups it holds up for years, but the hardware risks are hard to ignore.

  • Some long-term owners report zero stick drift after years of regular use.

  • The controller supports extensive customization, including rumble settings and button remapping.

  • The trigger lock setup can prevent trigger breakage for players who slam the right trigger.

  • The controller can feel well-built when working, with tight, high-quality buttons and sticks.

My first one lasted like 3.5 years before the RB gave out, second one I got a warranty with it, because the bumpers WILL give out eventually.

I could never understand paying a higher cost for a controller than a game itself ... Or three or four if you are buying older stuff
It's customizable with extra paddles & it's more durable & better quality than the normal controllers. People who play competitively benefit from them, or just people who play a ton or go through controllers fast (my shoulder buttons always break).

You've never used one of these controllers obviously. They were also available for $52 open box on eBay a few months ago from vip outlet. I got 3 they're awesome for that price

I've had this version 6 years now with zero stick drift. Some other issues, but not that
It depends on how u treat it, where/how it's stored (dust & debris can play a big role in drift) & how often u use it, & luck, i think. Still, i had an original elite for several years & never had drift. I have actually never had drift in any controller except switch joy cons, because i always only play with clean hands, & take care of my controllers. I treated them well & they still drifted.

I've had two of these since it dropped in 2019 (and series 1 before that). The first the RB stopped working and was out of warranty. The second is still going strong. Zero stick drift on either.

Absolutely worth the investment if you play on controller regularly. But be aware they are prone to bumper issues, there are guides online on how to fix - https://youtu.be/1EjJ5JjOtUo
Bumpers always break on Xbox one & newer controllers for me. I had OG Xbox from launch of series S controller for 10 years, never a problem, & 360 controllers for a decade, too, & never an issue. I've had 3 series X controllers so far & bought a 4th that's still in the box, cuz i know I'll need ot eventually (from a sale). I had a few xbone controllers, too, but forgot how many (one was a collectors edition halo version that i still have, but the LB is broken). The quality changed drastically after 360 generation on MS controllers.

I'm surprised they never added a Tokyo Drift edition of these what with how 100% of them will develop stick drift in a year or less 😆
Definitely not 100%, cuz i know ppl who have had them for a while without drift, & a couple people in this thread claim the same. Only play with clean hands & store them where they won't get dust or debris in them, & there's a much better chance they won't have drift. I'm sure it's a high percentage, but definitely not 100%.

All these crybabies on the comments 😂 I've had this controller for over 4 years. Works just like any other controller except for the paddles and feels solid. Buy it Don't buy it quit complaining 😂

polling rate of 125hz, many 8 thousand hz polling controllers out there if you care about latency speeds and are on a PC

Have this controller and razer wolverine/scuf valor pro are far superior. Better hardware and polling rates for latency. Only thing this controller has going tor it is a long battery life.

Yeah. I have one and love it. It's hard to explain to people that ask why pay double. It's like asking why pay more for a luxury car. You don't have to, a Honda will get you from point A to point B if that's all you care about, so will public transport, presumably.
I don't know much about this controller, but your analogy is wrong. Luxury cars also have features and comfort that a non-luxury car doesn't have. They're also purchasing for the status symbol. The thing is you don't show off your controller as a status symbol, and from what i can tell everything is the same, no?

JUNK! Do NOT BUY! These are notorious for having the right or left bumper buttons break, notorious for stick drift which cannot be easily replaced.

Gamesir G8 pro and Vader 5 are excellent controllers that are even cheaper, have all of the "elite" features, AND have Hall effect sticks/TMR sticks that will literally NOT get stick drift.

This is from someone who had his left bumper break within 2 hours of gameplay, and then the right bumper will double or triple press, which happened just after literally less than 5 hours of gameplay. Horror stories about this controller are everywhere online, it's significantly more common than any typical controller.
