I've had one of these for about 5yrs more and I've probably dropped it at least 50x and it keeps on going. I ordered a bunch of oregon blades off eBay for it and just change them when needed. I'm sure if I wanted I could get or make a sharpening jig but it just easier.

I've been eyeing the Scott's pole saw at Lowe's for a while that already comes with an Oregon bar and chain. It's been a little over this price for a while but I haven't had the need for it... yet. I may get this one since you can use it without the pole too. Reviews seem good, I see some people complaining about the weight but I see it's only 10 pounds which is nothing to hold over my head. I hold alot heavier weight than that over my head for extended periods of time.

I would use the pole saw once every 3 years. I don't think the batteries hold a charge for 3 years and I'm not gonna buy new batteries when I can just plug it in. A hybrid plug-in/battery option would be neato.

I guess if all your trees are within an extension cord reach. Mine aren't.

All my trees are within extension cord reach. I had no idea that you can charge the batteries every once in a while, what a novel idea. What will they come up with next, automatic transmissions in vehicles?
