DEWALT's 20V MAX 1 2 inch impact wrench is a high torque tool aimed at stubborn fasteners, with enough muscle for most everyday jobs and extra headroom when extensions or swivel sockets soak up power. The 900 model is described as plenty capable, while the older 899 has held up well for years. The main caveat is size and force, since the heavier high torque models can be tiring and may be more than needed for lighter work. It reads as a strong fit when compact convenience matters less than raw breakaway power.
The DCF900 model is described as plenty for most tasks based on experience with the DCF899.
The extra torque can help when using extensions or swivel sockets that reduce effective impact power.
The 1/2-inch impact wrench is framed as sufficient for many jobs unless a user needs higher-demand torque.
The tool is said to be easier to handle than the heavier 961 model while still covering most needs.
The impact wrench's high power may be excessive for average users and could risk breaking nuts or bolts.
Swivel sockets may not hold up under impact use, which can limit accessory choices.
Massive torque may raise concerns about 1/2-inch impact sockets or converters failing under load.
Some vehicle-specific fasteners may require stepping up to a higher model, since a lower model could not handle Honda Fit front strut bolts.

It's important for me to get feedback when removing high torque fastener. 1/2" or 3/4" breaker bar up to 300 ft-lbs. Step up to oxy torch if fastener won't move.
