One thing I guess about that Gilliam jacket, which I do have in my cart right now, is, I don't think I'd wear it to do any kind of work with that soft shell, feels like a recipe for disaster like ripping on a nail or something. I also see that, while it's not listed as a "Rain Defender," the Gilliam appears to have the same DWR coating and so it should function the same way. As far as I can tell, the Gilliam hasn't been lower than the $70's in the last year on Amazon.
I will also add, the Gilliam showed up at the OP-listed price of $54.99 without the coupon, adding the code didn't result in any additional discount. The shacket is on the website at $52.49 but adding the code did take off $7.87.
Carhartt often also matches their website prices for direct sale on Amazon, don't see it yet but I guess that could be maybe another option.
