If I may add my 2 cents. The 4th gen has a flatter sound over the 3rd gen so if you are expecting bass, this is not the model for you. Also these speakers use psychoacoustics. Basically means super sensitive drivers, powerful amps producing loud sound without needing much power. In other words these speakers don't create thumping bass. It creates bass just not the typical bass you expect from a subwoofer. Hope this helps.
