Community Reviews
Dawn Ultra Original is valued as a strong degreaser for greasy dishes and even bike chains, with the refill jug format making it easy to stock up. The price lands close to common trigger points around $0.10 per ounce, but Costco, BJ's, and Sam's Club are cited as cheaper alternatives on a per ounce basis. The jug size has also dropped from 56 ounces to 51.5 ounces, and the formula is described as more watered down than before. Dawn Platinum is repeatedly framed as the stronger option, so this deal mainly appeals if you want the original refill size.

1. PG is a large enough conglomerate that it does not need to sell private label when Dawn already is a top seller. (Profit)
2. I used Dawn to clean up spilled oil after a oil change. Kirkland does not degrease as well as Dawn, Plat or Ultra.
3. My mom volunteers at an animal rescue. They are a charity and donation funded, if Kirkland worked as well as Dawn, they'd switch in a heartbeat.
And just a personal note, I end up using more Kirkland soap than Dawn on the really greasy dishes.
Just like many believe Kirkland laundry detergent is Tide, it's not. (Tide also made by PG). Also when the motor oil came out, many were speculating it was Castrol or Mobil 1, then we found out it was Warren. Some thought the first single malt was Macallen white label, it wasn't.

Yes, absolutely.
IMO nothing comes close to Dawn Platinum.
This deal in OP is just making you purchase a massive supply of an inferior product.
It is when you don't need to buy as much.
Also, Dawn Platinum > all others.
