How's this compare with the E12 that I literally just bought a few days ago? Is it just that this supports a greater variety of tape sizes and uses thermal paper instead? Pros and cons of that?

it also has drivers to support a pc to print to it.

It looks like it does, its just thermal printing. Theirs contains a RFID that let the printer know the tape dimensions so you dont have to program the label spec. The guarantee their labels for 5 years and to be waterproof, but third party ones can be programmed in
