Was seriously considering this one until I saw the 4.75 gallon wet/dry vacuum for the same price: https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com...ts/pwv201b

This handheld one wins in the compact department but the wet/dry one wins in the ability for multi-use case department for me.

I have it, and it's more or less ok to pick up some little pieces of dirt and etc. from rubber floor mats. It's not good enough to clean carpet floor or carpet mats in the car (of course, it depends on what exactly gets into your car). The crevice tool it comes with isn't that good either. You can get into some spots between seats, but due to the shape and size of the vacuum, it's not the tool I would recommend for cleaning cars. Even with the brush tool, the trunk doesn't get that clean either. I'd suggest something with the crevice tool attached to a hose, preferably the ones made for car cleaning.

To be fair, I use it on hardwood floors (corners and etc) and for cleaning carpeted stairs. It's ok for that.

Also, the one I bought started making grinding noises and Ryobi replaced it for free.

looks like this one and the wet dry one doesn't come with battery. Unless you already have a battery not a good deal.

Looks like same one with battery plus charger is there but 84.50

My wife has went through countless handvacs and she got this one cause of the powered brush to help clean up cat litter on the floor. She thinks it's outstanding, and highly recommend it.

I've used it myself and definitely edges out others one as well.

I'd highly recommend it, it does a great job with picking up small things.

I own the wet / dry vacuum from
Ryobi. It is awesome! I break it out for small jobs, use it in the car quickly and easily and even use it to suck out the HVAC condensate drain lines (best use case for sure here in South Florida!).

This is for people who are already on the ONE+ system and have too many batteries from previous deals 😁. Not a great deal otherwise.

I have the original Ryobi Hand Vac and have used it for many years. This definitely looks more robust and I'm in for the upgrade at this price. Thanks!

Wet/dry vacs need really strong suction to be useful, with 18V battery power it only pulls 40CFM vs 80 in the 40v version and 130-170CFM in the widely recommended Craftsman, Vacmaster, and Ridgid AC-powered models. I'd rather focus that power on a small task-suited handheld unit like in OP and let my shop vac have a beefier AC-powered high HP motor to really power through.

Don't waste your time or money on this garbage. Bought one 2 years ago and it was the worst ryobi purchase I have had the displeasure of owning. Suction is horrid, the tool heads do not work, at all. Did I mention suction? yeah it doesn't do that. I thought at the time this would be a great replacement for our B&D Pivot, I was so. Very. Wrong. This Ryobi Purchase put me off from buying other ryobi products for several years. I did purchase the Ryobi 18v hot glue gun, and 18v tyre inflator both which were fantastic and very useful tools that I am still using today. That 18v handheld vac on the other hand, wouldn't even clean up goldfish crackers in the van. GD pile of trash.

That doesn't have blow function, (unless i misread it) would never get a shopvac that does not have blow option. Just my two cents.

Of course AC-powered would outperform a battery-operated 18v one.

I was comparing cordless/battery-powered that OP posted vs getting a shopvac version. The one OP posted has stated suction power of 30 CFM whereas the shopvac shows 40 CFM. Not a huge upgrade but for the SAME PRICE, unless space is a premium, I would rather get the shopvac version.

It doesn't list it in the description on Direct Tool's site, but the Home Depot page, which links to the manual has the blower listed in the back.

While I'm not super savvy on tools and whatnot, but I'm not sure if you CAN have a shopvac without it SOMEWHERE to output the airflow, and having that feature would be another selling point for the manufacturer at a small addition to cost. Makes sense to include it 🤷
