Ryobi's 18V ONE plus powered brush hand vacuum is a compact cleanup tool best suited to small debris, tight spaces, and quick household touchups. The powered brush gets praise for picking up cat litter and other small bits, and it works well on hardwood corners, stairs, baseboards, and window sills. It is less convincing for car carpets, trunk cleanup, and heavier debris, and the included crevice and brush attachments draw criticism. Battery ownership also matters, since the tool-only price makes more sense inside the ONE plus system.
Common Questions (5)
Yes, the powered brush helps with cat litter and other small bits on hard floors, and it is described as especially effective for picking up small items. It is also reported to work well on hardwood corners, stairs, baseboards, and window sills.
It is best suited to small cleanup tasks rather than heavy-duty vacuuming. The 18V cordless unit is cited at 30 CFM, and several comments say stronger AC-powered shop vacs are better for larger jobs.
It can pick up small debris on rubber floor mats and reach some spots between seats, but it is not strong enough for carpet floor mats or a trunk that needs a deep clean. The included crevice tool is limited, so a hose-mounted car-cleaning attachment works better.
The tool-only listing does not include a battery, so it is mainly a good buy if you already have Ryobi ONE+ batteries. A battery-and-charger version is listed at a higher price.
The Direct Tools listing does not mention a blower, but the Home Depot page and manual link show a blower listed on the back. That feature would make it more versatile if you want airflow output as well as vacuuming.

This handheld one wins in the compact department but the wet/dry one wins in the ability for multi-use case department for me.

To be fair, I use it on hardwood floors (corners and etc) and for cleaning carpeted stairs. It's ok for that.
Also, the one I bought started making grinding noises and Ryobi replaced it for free.
Edit: Worked on formatting.
Looks like same one with battery plus charger is there but 84.50

I've used it myself and definitely edges out others one as well.
I'd highly recommend it, it does a great job with picking up small things.
Ryobi. It is awesome! I break it out for small jobs, use it in the car quickly and easily and even use it to suck out the HVAC condensate drain lines (best use case for sure here in South Florida!).

I was comparing cordless/battery-powered that OP posted vs getting a shopvac version. The one OP posted has stated suction power of 30 CFM whereas the shopvac shows 40 CFM. Not a huge upgrade but for the SAME PRICE, unless space is a premium, I would rather get the shopvac version.

While I'm not super savvy on tools and whatnot, but I'm not sure if you CAN have a shopvac without it SOMEWHERE to output the airflow, and having that feature would be another selling point for the manufacturer at a small addition to cost. Makes sense to include it 🤷

Here's a hose that should work: https://a.co/d/07oDh4Ka
Also, there's a trick to cleaning the carpet in cars: Get the cheapest model of percussion massage gun you can find and vibrate the carpet as you vacuum. It will pull all the dust out.
