Community Reviews

This El Pollo Loco offer is mainly about getting a fire grilled leg and thigh meal at a steep discount, with the sides and preparation still landing well for some orders. The app redemption can be clunky, since the deal may not confirm before checkout and staff may need to scan it in store. The biggest drawback is portion size, with the chicken described as very small and not filling, and the regular price seen as poor value. It feels best as a one day bargain rather than an everyday meal.

Common Questions (4)

  • At around $3.50 to $4, the deal is described as a bargain, especially compared with regular pricing. At full price, the small portions and extra drink cost make it feel overpriced.

    zen_cohenhdlkSlashinhobomanku

  • The chicken pieces are reported to be very small, with some describing them as wing-sized. A leg and thigh may not be filling, so the meal can feel light for the price.

    DelightfulCrow1116hdlkDelightfulCrow1116

  • The promo is tied to a drink purchase, and the app order may not clearly confirm that the deal applied before checkout. In practice, the discount can require staff to scan it at the restaurant, and the meal itself does not include a drink unless you pay extra.

    zen_cohenThinkster

  • The app can show only seven drink options at some locations. Small drink, water, and horchata may all be priced at the lowest drink tier.

Pollo Loco used to be ok, but now they are an overpriced joke! No value anymore. A small leg & thigh is not worth that much in reality, so paying $3+ for $0.25 worth of a drink to get a couple small pieces of chicken ain't a big deal. I can buy 8 piece of bigger chicken pieces, especially the breasts at a local market for $5, much better value!

Is it just me or does it taste different as well? I swear they changed something with it (the chicken itself), the last few times I've had it.

Last time they had a BOGO burrito deal. It was my first time trying the place but all I got was mostly rice, no veggies, and not much chicken. It was small too. Even BOGO at $10 I felt ripped off. I'd rather pay full price at Chipotle.

Their chicken is very small, a leg and thigh won't fill you up. If you have a McDonalds nearby an El Pollo loco, on this same day (Wednesday), they will have a deal for a free big mac with a $2 purchase in app (there's a thread here about that as well).
