I've seen this a couple times now. Is this being reprinted or something?

Fantastic game. Heavy on cutscenes but a great storyline with satisfying payoffs.

I don't usually comment on anything on SlickDeals but this game was amazing. This was PEAK PS3 days. This was when we used gaming magazines to learn how to beat games. I wish they remastered this game for PS5.

The excitement for video games back then was something different. Yes, they sell millions more copies and generate billions of dollars more. The casual person is more into them nowadays. However, the video game subculture was so much more intense back then, but I would argue that the timeline was before what you are saying. The magazines, the secrets you could only discover through them or word of mouth. Totally different world.

I recently played Perfect Dark and I was watching a walkthrough video. There is a hidden cache in a level where the only clue is a grenade in the room. No indication where you are supposed to even throw it to break the wall. This wasn't even something the developers revealed in an official guide. It was something people would discover on their own and magazines and your fellow classmates would help make this more well known. That's how things were back in the day.

I still remember my friend bringing some video game magazine that was giving all this info on the upcoming GTA IV game and I was freaking excited for it. Things that you couldn't even find on the internet easily. The exclusive info was provided to a small number of gaming media publishers and they would force you to get it from magazines.

Now that I look back on that time, I think the PS3/Xbox 360/Wii era is right when this was starting to end dramatically because of the internet and how much more data could be hosted online. Sure, the internet was easily accessible to most by the early 2000s, and someone could scan exclusive info in magazines or "leak" things in forums earlier, but where this info could be hosted wasn't always easy to determine and finding what websites to go to wasn't always easy. It's not like nowadays where someone can just post everything on Reddit for every person, casual and deep gamer to find.

Peace Walker was also on PS3 and Xbox 360 as part of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. MGS4 was PS3 exclusive until the Master Collection release.

Though you may already be aware, recently they did release an HD port (don't believe its a remaster though) for PS5:
