Don't waste your money on this. The ink cartridges will cost you an arm and a leg. 300 pages per cartridge and each cartridge runs about $50.

Get one of the tank style HP printers (or Epson or Brother) that come with 2 years of ink in the box, and refill ink bottles have 9000 pages per bottle at half the cost of the cartridge (and you can use any brand ink).

Math doesn't lie!

Oh, and Instant Ink program is a scam! Don't sign up.

Any particular model you recommend that has duplex? I see most on Amazon have review ratings in the high 3's to 4.1 That's pretty bad, but I also get the frustrations that printers cause.

How about his Brother printer model:
https://www.staples.com/brother-i...t_24649430

$260 and you get 30% back in rewards (about $80).

Also there is this model:
https://www.staples.com/brother-i...t_24695677

$250 with 30% back in rewards.

These Brother printers don't use bottles of ink but tank-style cartridges of ink, but they're just ink (no printhead expense like normal cartridges).

If you want a printer that refills with bottles of ink, check out these new models from EPSON:

Thank you for replying! I had never heard of these tank designs. I think I'll look closer at the Epson and Canon printers that refill with bottles of ink. Anything to prevent the OEM's from blocking 3rd party refills.
