Has anyone compared the orange-handled Kleins side by side with the Milwaukees?

I was doing some work with gas fittings this summer and decided that I could afford to spend a little bit of money on a 6/8/10 set - but not full price. I do own SAE wrenches, but I have to go and get them out and I have no idea what size any random fitting is. I have a nice Stanley 12" and a crappy Stanley 8", and I don't want to invest in Knipex.

I understand these 2026 big-box store Kleins are probably not the same ones that people refer to from the good old days.

No, these are not made by Klein. They are made by a no-name company in South Korea and Klein adds their name to boost the price.

For your application would a parrot beak wrench be better? The excellent Icon version is $22 https://www.harborfreight.com/10-...duct=58881 or you could pay several times that amount from Knipex.

All adjustable wrenches round the shoulders of fasteners and should be avoided

Growing up riding bmx, I hate crescent wrenches with a passion of a thousand suns. So many busted knuckles from the wrench slipping. First time I tried a knipex pliers wrench, it was like a religious revelation. I'm now an evangelist and preach the Gospel of knipex.

The Pittsburgh wrenches probably come from the same Korean factory as the imported "Klein" tools. Usually decent value for occasional use but I much prefer the higher quality HF lines. The Icon line is MUCH more expensive than the Pittsburgh line but it really is much higher quality. Usually identical clones of professional-grade Knipex or Snap-On tools. Watch for an Icon sale

However for me, it is a "no" to adjustable wrenches, no matter who makes them. Fastener-destroyer knuckle-busters all.

My son uses these for a side job setting up and tearing down concert venues. I was skeptical, but used them on a few vehicle and bike repairs. They are the real deal and keep their size. I've got numerous Gearwrench 6 point, and honestly I am grabbing for this first.

Go to Lowes check out the jaw for yourself, slop varies some alot more than others. Made in South Korea somewhat a little better vs China. Milwaukee no slop or movement in jaw, Made in Taiwan. Channellock better prices made in Spain by Irega.
